Pia Pan and Annette Gerlif are both members of Kunstforum Viborg – the association for professional artists in Viborg Municipality. Up til the exhibition in Viborg Art Society, Pia and Annette have sought inspiration in the unique landscape around Hald Ege and Dollerup. They have taken photos and collected materials which have been further processed in their art practice.
Pia Pan
Pia’s form of expression lies at the crossroads between drawing and sculpture. Pia has a fascination for shapes and movements in nature, which gives her inspiration for drawings. The lightness of the line is often used as a presentation for sculptural works. The sculpture can be seen as two-dimensional drawings put together into a three-dimensional sculpture.
At the exhibition, Pia Pan shows drawing, graphics and sculpture inspired by microorganisms and perishability.
Annette Gerlif
Annette loves to create order in a chaotic outer world. She is endowed with a tireless digital brain that constantly organizes and categorizes, sees patterns and contexts. A mathematical brain that loves order – minimalism – to do something simple, clear and distinct.
Her art is basically always characterized by the obvious interest in the different spaces of the concrete physical world. The observations can be traced directly on the image surface, where they are simplified, arranged and flattened so that they appear as abstractions and patterns in dialogue with lines and tactile fractures that create counterweights, openings and displacements in the image space.
At the exhibition, Annette Gerlif shows acrylic painting and graphics, which are inspired by soil profiles / layers as well as oak trees and roots.
